Every ProMonitoring patient is required to use a distinct email address to help identify their case and to access their ProMonitoring account. In some cases however, multiple patients may want to use the same email address; for members of the same family, for example.
In this situation the best course of action is to ask the patients to create new email addresses for each distinct patient and to assist them if you are able. If this is not an option for the patients however, and if they use Google for their email server, Gmail does include a modification option called “plus addressing”. You may simply add “+” and a word or number to the end of the second account’s address. Gmail will recognize this as the same as the original and both will route emails to the original account’s inbox, while ProMonitoring will recognize this as a second, and unique, email address.
For example newpatient@gmail.com can be duplicated as newpatient+1@gmail.com. Both email addresses will route to newpatient@gmail.com’s inbox.
This only works with Google email addresses. All other servers will require distinct addresses for each user.
