Baseline Scan
Scanning Frequency
Baseline Scan
Their first scan will be their baseline scan, the initial baseline for their pre-treatment tooth position.
Once your patient has received their Aligner Kit and is ready to begin treatment, they must download the ProMonitoring™ App to their smartphone from the App Store or Google Play Store.
After downloading, the patient must activate their account by clicking the activation link sent to the email address on file. Once the ProMonitoring™ App has been activated, the patient can take their first scan. ProMonitoring App provides a tutorial on how to conduct each scan.
Scanning Frequency
We strongly recommend that Providers use the 14-day protocol because the velocity of teeth movement considered during ProMonitoring™ treatment planning is best suited for a two-week wear. By contacting support, we can adjust the scanning frequency upon treating the provider's request.
When reviewing your patient's scans on the ProMonitoring™ Portal, the baseline scan appears on the timeline as a red box.
Green circles are “GOs” meaning the aligners fit well enough for the patient to move on.
Aside from the baseline scan, a red box in the timeline signifies a “No-GO,” in which the patient is instructed to wear the aligners for an additional seven days.
What is ScanAssist?
ScanAssist is an improved scan flow that will improve accuracy and reduce scan time and retakes. Any patient starting ProMonitoring after 8/26/24 will automatically be set up for this functionality.
For existing patients, we recommend sticking with the existing process to avoid interrupting their routine. However, you'll be able to contact support on a case-by-case basis.
To use the previous scan version for a patient, navigate to the ProMonitoring™ App. After locating the intended patient profile:
- Select the "Info" tab
- Scroll to near the bottom of the page on the left side
- Select the "Scan Process Version" button
- Select between ScanAssist (V2) and the previous version (V1)
ScanAssist Device Requirements
See the ScanAssist tutorial video below:
See the traditional scanning tutorial video here.
If your patient has a phone that does not fit in our ScanBox Pro (ex: Google Pixel), please contact our support team.
What is the ScanBox Adapter?
The ScanBox LED Adapter is a small device that increases the distance between the camera and teeth for clearer scans by connecting to the ScanBox before the tube, and by providing its own illumination when the device's light is blocked by the ScanBox edge.
The adapter addresses issues with blurry scans on some of the latest iPhone models. If the patient does not own one of the compatible phones, the adapter will not be necessary for taking scans during treatment.
For the full list of compatible devices and devices that require the adaptor, see iPhone 17 & Google Pixel Scanboxes.
If the patient has an incompatible phone, but no adapter, please contact ProMonitoring support at support@promonitoring.ai.
